The Rumors of the Death of XHTML Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

Just found this web comic at Smashing Magazine which attempts to clear up some of the misunderstandings about XHTML and HTML 5.

Web Comic

The interesting thing about it is that it reminds me of when I got into a discussion with somebody about this very topic at the SitePoint forums. This guy was going into great detail about all the things wrong with XHTML. On one hand, I could see the truth behind many of the points he was making. On the other hand, I’ve never seen that any of my XHTML pages were breaking the Internet and it also seemed to me that if you really, really wanted to switch from XHTML to HTML 5 that all you would have to do is simply change the document type declaration. Well, this web comic confirms that that is indeed the case.
